Research Laboratory Worker
Required Qualifications: (As evidence by an attached resume)
Technical knowledge asevidenced by coursework in Biochemistry or Molecular Biology.Experience following specific instructions.
Associate degree (or foreign equivalent or higher) in Biochemistry or another related field. Laboratory experience in a biochemistry research setting. Experience in basic molecular biological skills including buffer preparation. Experience accurately using liquid pipettors and weigh balances. Experience with gene expression and protein chromatography.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Research Laboratory Worker position in the Department of Biochemistry and Cell Biology will learn from and assista research project in Dr. Wali Karzai’s laboratory.Incumbents will need a brief period of orientation or on-the-job training to learn the rudiments of the job.
Assist Principal Investigator with projects in the laboratory.Under the guidance of the PI, gather data using various methods.
Assist Principal Investigator with the management of the laboratory including ordering and maintaining supplies, sterilizing glassware, buffers, and media preparation, lab stocks; learn and follow all safety procedures.Assist with maintaining compliance with environmental health and safety procedures.
Assist Principal Investigator with compiling and analyzing scientific data/results.
Attend and participate in lab meetings
Other duties or projects as assigned.
