At Stony Brook Medicine, a TH Medical Radiographer III is a valuable member of our team, who providesadministrative and executive support and has the ability to interface with alllevels of management throughout the hospital. Produces diagnostic exams, positions andtransfers patients, provides immobilization devices, selects proper technicalfactors on an individual patient basis, selects and operates equipment.

Duties of a TH MedicalRadiographer III in the Radiology Diagnostic Department may includethe following but are not limited to:
Brief Description ofDuties:
Provides protection in accordance with prescribed safetystandards, assisting physicians in administering opaque media, responsible fordelegating areas of authority in the performance of routine or specialprocedures, may be responsible for specific areas of instruction in the schoolof technology and ancillary personnel.
In the absence of the supervisor or senior technologist, may bedesignated as acting supervisor.
Assists in performing first aid, as necessary, practices steriletechniques and prevents cross-contamination.
May conduct periodic quality control tests, will participate orconduct research in required specialty.
Will be required to teach radiology students or specialty.
Will be required to teach radiology students or appropriatehospital personnel established procedures and operation of equipment, inaccordance with the guidelines and teaching objectives of the department.
Thisposition includes responsibilities in the Hybrid Operating Rooms as well as regular OR and Diagnostic Radiology duties.
Required Qualifications: NYS DOH Certified in Radiology Tecnology and ARRT Certified or Eligible for Certificationand certified in IV Contrast Injection within the 12 month probation period to maintain the position.
* PreferredQualifications: * MRI, Cat Scan, and/or Hospital Experience. Certification in IV Contrast Injection.
