Assistant Director of Nursing for Behavioral Health & Regulatory Affairs
Position summary :
The Assistant Director of Nursing for Behavioral Health & Regulatory Affairs will monitor quality sensitive indicators and unit specific quality and patient safety programs in accordance with regulatory standards. In addition, this position may provide individualized direct patient care utilizing the skills and knowledge relevant to the care of such patients. This position provides guidance to the T & R Nurse I, II, & III and ancillary personnel and reports directly to the Chief of Regulatory Affairs.
Duties of a Assistant Director may include the following but are not limited to :
Monitors and assist leadership in Behavioral Health in relation to disseminating new and existing regulatory requirements
Evaluate state of readiness related to Regulatory Affairs including Joint Commission, Department of Health, CMS, OMH & Justice Center
Responds to inquires from Regulatory Agencies and performs investigations related to Regulatory issues
Assists in revising procedures associated with metrics in core measures for Behavioral Healt
Analyzes data for maintenance of process control within defined regulatory measures
Identifies areas of non-compliance and works with the Behavioral Health Care Teams and makes recommendations for remedies
Participates in the plans for the hospital’s strategic initiatives
Contributes to educational experiences for staff and self
Makes contributions to patient safety improvements
Demonstrates professional accountability by actively engaging in continuing education, certification and other elements of professional growth
Provides feedback regarding staff performance as it relates to Regulatory Issues
All other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications : Possession of or eligibility for a license to practice as a registered nurse in New York State and five years post licensure in nursing with progressive leadership roles. Minimum two years management/supervisory experience.
* Preferred Qualifications * : Master's degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration or related field. Five years supervisory/management experience; three years current psychiatric nursing experience.
